1945~2021

It is with great sadness we announce the passing of Margaret Davis (McKay) at the age of 76 at the Rocky Mountain House Hospital & Care Centre on May 15, 2021.

Margaret was born on February 27, 1945 in Calgary, AB to Don and Dorothy McKay and grew up in Midnapore

Margaret married her beloved husband Don Davis on October 10, 1964. They resided in the Midnapore-Priddis area until April 1973 when the family relocated to the Leslieville Rocky Mountain House area.

Margaret was an avid reader, who enjoyed reading almost anything from romance, mystery and true crime. Margaret was dearly loved by her family, friends and colleagues over the years. She was well known in the community as she had a variety of jobs in the Rocky area. She developed many friendships and acquired many ‘adopted’ children whom she cared for a great deal. She was a social butterfly and loved visiting all her family, friends and acquaintances including those she met while travelling. She was involved with the 4-H for many years and was a leader in Priddis and Leslieville, as well as a public speaking judge and a member of the foundation. She was also closely involved with the organization and production of the first 4H Cookbook published in 1990.

Margaret is survived by her husband Don of 56 years and her daughters: Dianna of Eckville, Debbie (Brad) of Okotoks, and Donna (George) of Edmonton; her sisters: Jeannie, Louise and Isabelle (Perry); her grandchildren: Calvin (Payton), Christy, Meaghan (Tarek) and Matthew and her great grandchildren: Connor, Kody and Mikail; her nieces, nephews and grandnieces and nephews.

A Celebration of Life will be held at a later date, to be announced.
