Born in Taber Alberta, August 10th, 1967 our Guiding light left this precious earth on November 8th, 2021.

Ken is survived by his parents,Roy and Marilynn Elmer, his brother Warren Elmer (Tina), sister Sheelagh Driver, wife Kellie, 4 children (Wyatt, Easton, Shea and Regan),Nephews CodyQuick (Dallas) and Ryan Elmer niece Melissa Elmer, many aunts, uncles and cousins (from BC and Alberta).

At three weeks old Ken’s family moved to Vulcan, Alberta where he lived through his high school years. After leaving home Ken moved to Okotoks, Alberta for a few years where he started his 35+ year career in the Automotive industry along side the Keith Family. Luckily for Kellie, Ken followed the Keith’s to the Lower Mainland of BC in the late 80’s where his beloved career flourished throughout all department’s of the Dealership world. Ken and Kellie met at Dueck on Marine, married in 1998, started their family in 1999 and together they enjoyed every day to the fullest. Ken had a passion for hockey that he passed on to his children, he loved following all 4 to various rinks around BC, Alberta, the Western US and the odd trip back East.

Surrounded by all of his children, Kellie, and daughter in-almost-law Taylor, at 12:42am on Nov. 8th, Ken lost his courageous and well fought battle with Cancer. For most of his fight, you would never have known he was so ill. In June of this year he was still riding his stationary bike and his Max trainer as well as jogging with his children and faithful dog Marti. We are all so proud of his hard work and ability to keep such an aggressive disease at bay for over 22 months after his diagnosis. Ken started feeling unwell in October 2018, was diagnosed with Pancreas cancer in October 2019 after having Whipple surgery. He fought with grace, the most positive attitude and determination right up to the end of October 2021. He is truly amazing and an inspiration to all of us.

Ken taught his family to be strong, to be positive and to support each other through thick and thin. Everything for a reason he would say, we may never know the reason for this. What we do know is that Ken was the best Father, son, brother, husband, friend and human he could be. We are forever grateful we knew him, forever sorrowed that his time here was cut way to short and will forever hold his love in our hearts with pride and passion.

A celebration to honor Ken was held on December 3rd, 2021 at the Harris Barn in Ladner, BC. The service was live streamed and viewable on YouTube.

And so it will be as if all the stars are laughing when you look at the sky at night
