Al passed peacefully on October 7, 2023 at the South Health Campus Calgary. His wife of 51 years, Peggy by his side.

Al is survived by “THE GIRLS” Cheryl, Leanne, Tracy, Jennifer, Kali; sons in-law Rob Sholter; Luke Cyr, Brian Corbett, Wes Marko; grandchildren Carson, Nicole, Jacquelyn, Hunter, Connor, Aidan, Parker, Lillian, Spencer, Elias, Emily; his sisters Catherine Swagar and Carla Jullien.

 Al had his dream job Power lineman “to the bone” This was his second family (his brothers). Al successfully completed and received his Journeyman Certificate with Calgary Power Ltd in 1977 and became a lineman and service man. He was a member of I.E.B.W #254, was a leader Lineman and Lead hand Distribution/F.L.R with the City of Calgary. He worked Overhead and Firstline Response before retiring from Enmax after a safe and successful 30+ year career.

Al was a gentle giant with a quick whit. His sense of humor and strength was legendary, at work at home and at his two favorite tattoo studios. He enjoyed coming up with nicknames for all his family and friends. Al was a caring man who made a deep impact on everyone who crossed his path.

Our son, brother, husband, dad, papa, and friend he will be dearly missed and remembered by all.

Funeral Mass will be held at the St. James Catholic Church, Okotoks on Thursday October 19, 2023 at 12:00pm.
