It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Jochen (John) Ohlsen. Beloved Father, spouse, brother and Opa.

John was born on March 30, 1947 in Untermassfeld, Germany to Julius & Annaliese Ohlsen. Although John grew up in a military family, he had other plans. At the age of 21, he received his apprenticeship in automotive mechanics & embarked on his journey to Canada.

He arrived in Calgary in 1968 & met his future wife Trudy Proshlmajer that same year. They moved to Oyama, BC where they married on May 17, 1969 & started their family. In early 1974, John moved his family back to Calgary & eventually bought a home in Airdrie several years later. After their divorce in 1986, John once again moved back to Calgary. In May of 1992 he met Lynne Jeffs, who had captured his heart. He & Lynne worked at Oak Creek Golf & Turf for
several years together. Taking up residence in Turner Valley, BlackDiamond, Irricana & finally High River.

John had a love for all animals, especially dogs; as well as a love of racing. Whether it was him on the track in his early years both in BC and AB or just sitting back with a cold one watching NASCAR or Formula 1 - he had a need for speed.

John is survived by his partner Lynne Jeffs of 28 years, his two sons Michael (Brenda), & Tim (Chantal), his two step daughters Audra (Andrew) & Leslie. His granddaughter Kylie, step grandchildren Brittany (Jon), Jesse & Justin, Josh & Jordan and great grandson Alaric.

Always on our mind, forever in our heart.
