Irene Marilyn passed away peacefully in her residence at Trinity Lodge, in Calgary Alberta on October 21, 2019 at the age of 81. 

Born September 10, 1938 in Ottawa, Ontario. Educated at Carleton Collegiate High School which she graduated in 1957. Married to Graeme Beaton October 25, 1964. Predeceased by her Mother Lila I. Whan, Father Earl P. Whan, her 2 brothers, Richard (Rich) Whan and William (Bill) Whan, her sister – in – law Donna Whan, and her son-in-law Jeffrey (Parker). She is survived by her son, Steven (Beaton), daughter, Karen (Parker), her grandchildren (Benjamin, Alec, and Chloe Parker), her niece Debbie (Campbell) in Ottawa, as well as her west coast nieces and nephew Cathy (McAuley), Cindy (Beaton) and Rob (Beaton). She was active in her community through her involvement with the PC party of Canada as well as with the Newcomers club in Okotoks.
She treasured her time with her 3 grandchildren,
and lived vicariously through the travels of her niece Debbie, whom she considered as a daughter. She will be remembered by her large circle of close and loyal friends for her gregarious nature and self-deprecating humor, and missed deeply by her son, Steven. A Celebration of Life will be held at the Olympia Room at the Okotoks Arena – Okotoks, Alberta on December 27, 2019 from
