James (Jim) Frederick Hooey of Okotoks, AB, passed away October 14th, 2023 at the age of 83 years.

He is survived by his loving wife of 59 years, Carol; his children, Rob (Chie), Christine, Michael (Diane), and special son, Claude (Louise); three sisters, Helen (Jose), Sharon, and Louella (Elmer); nine grandchildren, Joe (Samantha), Monica, Krista, Jojo, Brianna, Marina (Michael), Natalie (Danny), James, and Jared; four great-grandchildren, Brooklyn, Nash, Lilly, and Amelia. Also, fondly remembered by Lynn, Lisa, Eric, and brother-in-law, Len (Linda). James was predeceased by his parents, Frederick and Vaneen Hooey of Winnipeg, MB.

After 37 years in the Royal Canadian Air Force, Jim retired to enjoy spending time with his family, doing a bit of golfing and pursuing several other hobbies. He and Carol enjoyed their many travels to Europe, Japan, South Africa, the USA and Mexico plus several cruises.

Jim was a loving family man and will be dearly missed by his many family and friends. Vigil Rites (Prayers) will be held at St. James Parish, 338060 32 Street E, Okotoks, AB on Thursday, October 19th, 2023 at 7:30 pm. The Funeral Mass will be celebrated at St. James Parish on Friday, October 20th, 2023, at 11:00 am with Father Domingo Bongalos, Celebrant.
