March 22, 1929 – January 12, 2022

We are sad to announce the passing of Nell and
the end of an era.

She is survived by children
and their spouses, Larry (Wendy), Robert (Linda),
Sandra Rishaug, Wendy Wilhelm (Michael),
Karen Orum (Terry), Barry (Yolande) and Connie
Russell (David). Also, 21 grandchildren, 45 great
grandchildren and 2 great-great grandchildren.
She was predeceased by husband Edwin
Williams, son Dean (survived by Lynda), son-in-law
Rick Rishaug (survived by Sandra), and her
parents and seven siblings.

Nell was born in Chedderville, AB to parents
John and Maggie McKie. Nell married Edwin
Williams November 4, 1946 and resided in
Dovercourt, AB until 1956, when they sold their
farm and relocated to Turner Valley to take over
a transport company. She has been here ever
since.

Nell dedicated her life to taking care of her
family, as well as many children from other
families. She was very talented at many crafts
such as sewing and several needle crafts.
She handcrafted so many of her children’s
and grandchildren’s clothing. However, her
specialty, that went on for decades was
baking. She made countless buns for various
organizations, including church events, bake
sales, the legion and of course individuals who
just wanted to taste her delectable delights.
Nell also volunteered for several groups such
as the Anglican Church, WI, and school events
including PTA.

Mum was a kind and gentle soul who enjoyed
many activities. Some of her favourite were
singing, dancing, cards and bowling. She is
the only person that I knew that could yodel.
She and Dad also travelled to many places far
and wide. They made regular road trips to visit
family and friends wherever they might be at
the time.

Forever missed but fondly remembered.
