Harvey Lawrence Frederick Goerlitz, dearly beloved husband of Shirley, passed away suddenly on November 14, 2019, at the age of 88 years.
Born in Calgary on December 8, 1930, Harvey lived and farmed west of DeWinton for his entire life, taking over the family farm after the long illness and
death of his father.
Harvey is survived by Shirley, his loving wife of 51 years, his sister-in-law Elaine (Emil) Thomas of La Grange, Texas, his brother-in-law Bob Taylor of Black Diamond, his brother-in-law Arthur (Linda) Taylor of Innisfail, much-loved nieces and nephews, great-nieces and great-nephews and many wonderful friends and neighbours. Harvey was predeceased by his parents Fred and Mary Goerlitz and his sister Frances (Wilfred) Befus.
Harvey was happiest when driving one of his green tractors around his farm, causing one neighbour to phone one day to ask if Harvey was okay because there was a red tractor in his yard, briefly. Bobby had had one of his tractors delivered to Harvey’s yard. Harvey passed away doing what he enjoyed most, still farming with the help of his Bar None friends, enjoying his tractor and helping his neighbours to the very end.

A Funeral Service will be held at Christ Church Millarville, Hwy 549 East Millarville, on Saturday, November 23, 2019 at 2:00 pm. Rev. Alan Getty officiating. Harvey will be laid to rest at the Christ Church Cemetery in Millarville.
