Harvey Skov of Calgary, Alberta
passed away on Friday, February 25,
2022 at the age of 85. Harvey was
born August 5, 1936 at Coronation,
AB. He was predeceased by his
sister, Karen McFarlane, and parents,
Richard (Dick) and Ethel Skov. Harvey
leaves to cherish his memory his wife
of 65 years, Doreen, his sister Joan
Hiron of Edmonton, children Ross
(Roxane) Skov, Roxanne (Bryan)
Hickey and Rae-Lee (Rob) Colcleugh,
all of Calgary, seven grandchildren and
six great-grandchildren, as well as his
loving and caring nieces and nephews
and extended family.
At his very core, Harvey was a man who
loved life and all the family and friends
he encountered through that life. He
had a quick smile and mischievous
twinkle in his eye. A Western Man at
heart, he was most comfortable in
his spotless cowboy boots and belt
buckle, especially when on the dance
floor, a passion he pursued until the
end. He loved all animals but dogs
and horses held a special place in his
heart. He was at home on the road
behind the wheel, and much of his
business success was focused around
motor vehicles. Even in his retirement,
he was a beloved tour bus driver. Most
importantly, Harvey never missed an
opportunity to express to his children
and family how much he loved and
appreciated them and how very proud
of them he was. Harvey was a very
good father, and a very good man.
A Funeral Service and celebration
of life will be held at Eden Brook
Funeral Home on Saturday March 19,
2022 at 12 noon. Those wishing to
pay their respects may do so from
10:30 – 11:45 at the funeral home.
A Graveside Service will follow the
reception at Eden Brook Memorial
Gardens. In lieu of flowers, if desired,
memorial donations in Harvey’s
honour may be made directly to a
charity of your choice.
