Mr. Joe Fleury of Okotoks, Alberta passed away at the Tudor Manor in Okotoks on July 27, 2023 at the age of 93 years.
Joe was born in Calgary to Joseph Gustuv Fleury and Octavia Fleury. The family moved to Turner Valley, Alberta in 1937. Joe went to school in North Turner Valley and then to North Turner Valley High School.
Joe always knew he wanted to be a carpenter and went to SAIT in Calgary. He worked all over the country with his trade. He always said if he can’t fix it with a nail he couldn’t fix it.
Joe married Sheila Vandergrift in 1964 and moved to B.C. for 32 years where their children Jody and Nicole were born. Joe was always very proud of his children.
Left to mourn Joe’s passing is his wife of 59 years Sheila; children Jody (Leigh-Anne) Fleury and Nicole (Chris) Dobson; grandchildren Cassandra (Jessie), Garrett (Marie) and Carleigh Fleury; sisters-in-law Ardeth (John) Neish, Colleen (Jim) Hendrickson and Bev Fleury as well as numerous nieces and nephews. Joe was predeceased by his brother Albert Fleury and sister Yvonne McLeod.
At Joe’s request no service will be held.
