It is with heavy hearts that we say goodbye to Eneth Rosemary Watkins, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother and much loved auntie and friend. She passed away, with her family by her side, on Friday, October 22, 2021 at the age of 99 years.
Eneth was born in Gloucester, England and came to Canada with her mom and sister in 1928. They lived in Priddis for a short while and then moved to Stettler where she grew up. At the age sixteen she came to work for the Beatty family in the Red Deer Lake area where she met Pete. They were married in 1940 and she lived in the same place for the next seventy-six years. In 2016 she moved to the Seasons in High River then in September of this year to Silverado Creek in Calgary.
Eneth was a great cook, an avid reader, a crossword puzzle expert, and a card game enthusiast. Her favourite phrase being “Just one more hand”, which inevitably ended in at least half an hour or more of play. She will be so very much missed.
Eneth is survived by her son and daughter-in-law Ted and Merle Watkins; her daughters, Suzon Watkins and Linda Schaal; grandchildren, Todd Watkins (Angie), Peter Watkins (Tina), Randy Schaal (Lisa), Suzon Schaal; greatgrandchildren, Justin Watkins, Tanner Watkins, Maddie Watkins, and Walter Schaal, her nephew John Desutter (Donna) and their family, Cathie Drake and their family and Enie’s other much loved nieces, nephews, and friends.
She was predeceased by her mother Winnifred Edwards, her husband SR (Pete) Watkins, her sister Jean DeSutter, Her son-in-law Garry Schaal, her Aunt Gladys Ladouceur and cousins, Peggy Ruttan, Phillip Sampson, and Larry Ladouceur.
