Heaven welcomed a new angel on
September 29th, 2022. Elsie was dearly loved by
many, and we will miss her greatly. She leaves
behind her daughter, Elizabeth (Liz), son in law,
Martin, grandchildren Karen (Jeff) and Michael
and five great-grandchildren, Anna, Jack, Brooke,
Calvin, and Fiona. We all had a special place in her
heart as she did in ours.

Born in Plymouth, England, Elsie was married
to Norman, with whom she shared 66 years.
She was predeceased by Dad in 2007 and
great-granddaughter Mary in 2000. On her own,
she bravely emigrated to Okotoks in late 2008
where she started a new life, making friends
wherever she went, firstly at Calvanna Village,
then to Sandstone Lodge and finally to Tudor
Manor. It did not take any time for Elsie to know
everyone and become the “go to” resident for all
things, big and small.

Elsie joined the Newcomers club soon after
arriving in Okotoks and remained a member of
the Alumni until recently; her membership in this
club started her wonderful relationship with many
friends.

Generous to a fault, Elsie always wanted to help
wherever she could, and her knitting prowess
was well known in the community. This skill
and her generosity resulted in annual sales of
her creations enabling sizeable donations to The
Foothills Hospice and Okotoks Foodbank.
The family give our grateful thanks to the
wonderful and caring staff at Tudor Manor,
Sandstone Lodge and the Foothills Hospital
Emergency department and Unit 62 where she
spent her final hours.

Please join the family for a service of the
Celebration of Elsie’s life at Holy Cross Lutheran
Church, Banister Gate, Okotoks, on Friday,
October 14, at 2:00pm.

If you choose to remember Elsie through a
donation, please consider the Rotary Flames
House, Alberta Children’s Hospital, 18 Children’s
Drive N.W., Calgary, T3B 6A8, or send a donation
to a charity that is near to your own heart.

Arrangements are in care of Snodgrass
Funeral Homes, Okotoks 403-938-3111.
