It is with the deepest sadness we announce the passing of Duane “Pete” Louth on December 14, 2021, at the age of 81.
Pete was born on March 22, 1940, in Turner Valley, Alberta and was raised and lived in the area for his entire life. He was always pleased to share his historical knowledge of the area.

Pete will be dearly missed by his daughters, Kim of Red Deer, Christine (Larry) of Calgary and Laura (Bob) of Black Diamond; 8 grandchildren;8 great grandchildren; sister Judy (Jim) of Black Diamond; and brothers, Orville (Diane) and Ron (Marilyn) of Calgary. Pete was predeceased by his wife Ruth in 2005; parents Fred and Alice Louth; brothers Ted and Butch; sisters Lois and Bev; and son-in-law Jason Lindberg.

Pete had a long successful career in the oil and gas industry. Pete and Ruth were married for 44 years and during this time they owned and operated the Turner Valley Bowling Lanes from 1977 until 1996. They cherished their time together and annual vacations at Premier Lake, BC were memorable. He treasured all his pets and greatly missed YoYo, his prized Jack Russell. He loved the foothills of Alberta. From his early years as an outdoorsman  to his later years enjoying trips west of Turner Valley and Longview which spurred many stories and filled his heart with joy.

The family wishes to express their sincere appreciation to Dr. Dowdall for his compassionate care, the remarkable attention by the nurses and staff at the Oilfields Hospital and generous support of his neighbours in his later years.

A memorial service will be held on Friday, January 7, 2022, at 1:00 pm at Snodgrass Funeral Home Chapel in Okotoks, Alberta.
