It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of our beloved mother, Phyllis Katherine Dick. Mom passed away peacefully one week before her 93rd birthday on Thursday, July 27, 2023.

Phyllis was born in Calgary, AB and raised in De Winton, AB. She attended Alexandra school for nine years, then moved to Calgary. Living with her Aunt Katie Befus to attend Western Canada High School in Calgary. Phyllis married David Lars Nagloren in 1952 and moved to the Nagloren family farm in Hussar, AB. Later, they moved to Drumheller and raised three children. In 1969, they divorced, Phyllis returned to her parents’ farm west of De Winton. In 1972, Phyllis relocated to Calgary and married Alan Stuart Dick. She moved to Okotoks and resided in Sheep River House, later moving to Sandstone Lodge and finally Walden Heights Retirement Home in Calgary in 2019.

Phyllis worked as an accountant and bookkeeper for many different firms in both Drumheller and Calgary until she retired in 1996.

Phyllis will be deeply missed by her brother Ron, children Ken (Karen), Janet (Gerald), Cathi (Rob); her four stepchildren Geary, Mitchell, Jody, and Tracey, six grandchildren Dennis (Tracey), David, Scott, Cindy (Lee), Brittany, Cendra; seven great-grandchildren, numerous nieces, and nephews.

Phyllis was predeceased by her two husbands David and Alan, her parents Henry and Katie, brothers Norman and Garry, and sister-in-law Evelyn.

Our family wishes to express sincere gratitude to all the doctors, nurses and all caregivers at Walden Heights AgeCare for their incredible care and kindness to our mom and our family when we visited her. Also, a special thank you to Dee (hairdresser) and Marlet (Happy Feet).

Those wishing to pay their respects may do so at McInnis & Holloway (Fish Creek, 14441 Bannister Road SE, Calgary, AB) on Wednesday, August 16, 2023, from 10:00 a.m. – 12:30 p.m. Graveside service to follow at the Pine Creek cemetery.
