Dianne Pallister (née Minue), beloved wife to Al, mother to William (Nicole) and Catherine (Peter), and grandmother to Michael and James, passed away aged 80 in Black Diamond, Alberta, near where she grew up with her father Gordon, mother Elsie, and sister Helen, by all of whom she was predeceased, as well as Mary, who died in infancy. Di devoted her life to the welfare of family and friends, particularly her adoring husband Al, who grew in his garden the flowers he brought inside for her on summer evenings and that she loved so much. Married for nearly 60 years but inseparable for longer than that, the pair spent many happy later days sharing coffee on their sundeck with a front-row view of the Rockies, treasuring the company of their daughter’s family nearby, and dining with friends on Friday nights at the Royal Canadian Legion. Di held a special place in her heart for grandsons Michael and James, whose love she cherished and whose busy lives were always foremost in her thoughts and conversations.
At Di’s request, there will be no funeral service. A gathering in celebration of her life will be held at a later date.
In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the Sheep River Health Trust.
