October 1944 – July 2020

Bev passed away peacefully on July 23, 2020, at Oilfields General Hospital at the age of 75. She will be remembered with love by her children Gary and Tracie; her son-in-law Cameron David; grandchildren Jason, Jamie, and Johnny; brother Robert Eady (Rob and Cathy), sister Linda Hutchison; and the Goble Family.

Bev was born on October 20, 1944, in Fort William, Ontario. Searching for adventure, Mom moved to British Columbia and then Alberta, settling in Turner Valley in 1975.

After her two children were born, Mom worked hard to provide for her family. She worked many hours and multiple jobs in and around the community. Most notably, her employment included owning and operating an accounting business, managing a plumbing and heating store, bookkeeping for the Catholic School Division and other local businesses, and serving on Turner Valley Town Council (1998-2004). Mom’s final and favourite, occupation was serving as Secretary Treasurer for the Turner Valley Golf Course, which she retired from in 2007.

Mom felt strongly about giving back to her community and, over the years, was an active member of the United Church and the Valley Neighbours Club. She also participated on many committees. Despite her busy schedule, Mom always found time to listen, laugh, hug, go for coffee, play bridge, go to the movies,
and travel, especially to her favourite place, Las Vegas.

The realizations that Mom was most proud of were her children, grandchildren and her years of sobriety as a member of Alcoholics Anonymous. Her daily devotion to practicing the program is what gave her the strength, courage and faith to live each day to its fullest, One Day at a Time. June 30, 2020, would have marked 44 years of sobriety for Mom.

As a formal gathering is not possible,
the family ask that you honour her memory by saying the Serenity Prayer and endeavouring to live your best life with no regrets.

The family would like to thank Dr. Ray and all the staff at Oilfields Hospital who treated our mom many times, always with respect, kindness and gentle hearts.

Memorial donations in memory of
Bev may be sent to the Calgary
Drop-In Centre.
