It is with heavy hearts that we announce the
passing of Betty Wakeford in Okotoks on
January 24, 2023.

She will be sadly missed by her husband
Dale Wakeford and her Children:
Mary (Terry) Murray, Jim (Maureen – Deceased)
Quinton, June (Rick – Deceased) Douglas, Les
(Kim) Quinton, Barry (Joan) Wakeford, Sandra
(Ken) McInnis and Heather Wakeford. Missing
her also are her 11 grandchildren, 19 great-
grandchildren and 3 great-great-grandchildren.

Betty was born and raised on a farm near
Mazeppa until she married James Quinton
and moved to High River. They had 4 children
before his passing in 1957. She remarried
2 years later to Dale Wakeford and had 3 more
children. They lived briefly in High River and
Black Diamond before relocating permanently
to Okotoks in 1963.

Betty was actively involved in CGIT, 4H and
Forest Wardens when her children were young,
then went to work as a bookkeeper / accountant
for 50+ years. Her other interests included
crafting, needlework and reading, which she
enjoyed for many years.

As a family we would like to extend our sincere
thanks to the homecare workers and the staff at
the Tudor Manor for their compassionate care
of Betty.

A celebration of life will be held at a later date.
