Every day was a great day to Dad. Our father passed away peacefully at 94. He was predeceased by his wife of 64 yrs, Helen and his 3 siblings.

Art was born in Calgary and joined their fire dept in ‘51, retired as a captain 35 yrs later. He LOVED being on the force. He then farmed the family land for years.

Dad always had time for his girls and was an amazing father to Joan Winstone, Pat (Darcy) Holden and a wonderful grandfather to Shauna Winstone. He is also survived by 2 great grandchildren, Lincoln and Kenzie.

Dad had a zest for life and never shied away from hard work. His family knew they were loved and supported especially our mother in her girl guide projects. Dad’s other love was riding his motorcycle and did so into his 80s.He was a strong, yet gentle man willing to lend a hand to any and all… never an inconvenience. His ashes will take the last ride to the picturesque Millarville Cemetery where we will inter both he and Mom’s ashes.

Everyone welcome to the outdoor graveside service at Millarville Christ Church Cemetery (on Hwy 549 just south of Calgary - google for directions) on Thursday, July 15, 2021 at 2:00pm and open house nearby to celebrate a life well-lived (address to be provided at the graveside service).

Art’s family would like to thank the staff at Tudor Manor in Okotoks for their care and kindness during his time with them.

Photos, memories and condolences may be shared with Art’s family through www.evanstrong.com.
