WHL: Blazers complete series sweep over Winterhawks, advance to West finals

PORTLAND, Ore. — Olen Zellweger had a hat trick and three assists, Matthew Seminoff added a hat trick of his own with one assist and the Kamloops Blazers swept their second-round playoff series against the Portland Winterhawks with a 10-4 win on Thursday.

Logan Stankoven, with two goals, Kyle Masters and Caedan Bankier provided the rest of the offence for Kamloops (48-13-4-3), which will face the Seattle Thunderbirds in the Western Conference finals for the second straight season.

Dylan Ernst made 23 saves.

Diego Buttazzoni, with two goals, Ryan McCleary and Jack O'Brien replied for Portland (40-20-5-3).

Dante Giannuzzi gave up three goals on 11 shots in the first 10:24 of the game. Jan Špunar surrendered seven goals on 37 shots in relief.
