OHL Roundup: Knights squeeze past Otters in shootout to earn sixth win in a row

ERIE, Pa. — Mathieu Paris scored the winning goal, Zach Bowen made the game-sealing save and the London Knights escaped with a 3-2 shootout win over the Erie Otters on Wednesday.

George Diaco, who also scored in regulation, netted the other marker as the first shooter for London (15-7-1), while Paris was the seventh and final Knight to go.

Bowen, who made 23 saves in regulation and overtime, stopped 6-of-7 shots in the shootout, with the last coming against Erie winger Noah Sedore. London pushed its win streak to six games in the process.

After a scoreless second, Sean McGurn put the Knights up 2-1 at 8:11 of the third period. However, Erie's Spencer Sova scored the game-tying marker with nine seconds left in regulation.

Christian Kyrou added the other for the Otters (10-9-0-3) while Nolan Lalonde stopped 25-of-27 shots in regulation and overtime. Malcolm Spence scored Erie's lone shootout goal.
