A four-goal surge powered the Okotoks Oilers to a first in the BCHL on Saturday.

Owen MacNeil scored in overtime as the Oilers completed the comeback with a 5-4 victory over the Spruce Grove Saints on Feb. 24 at the Grant Fuhr Arena, securing the visitors’ first road win in the BCHL.

The Saints built a 4-1 advantage late into the middle stanza before Okotoks’ rally.

Jagger Tapper scored twice, adding two assists with Hayden Fechner and Ryder De Nys also finding the back of the net.

Mikael Kingo made 23 saves for his second BCHL victory.

The win ends a three-game road losing streak and bumps a five-game slump for the Oilers.

On Friday, the Oilers lost a back-and-forth 6-5 result in Sherwood Park to the Crusaders.

Jackson Rowland had two goals, Brett Wilson, Kade Duell and Fechner added the other tallies.

Okotoks (2-6-0) is next in action on March 1 at home versus the Blackfalds Bulldogs.
