Oilers one win away from AJHL final

The Okotoks Oilers can advance to the Alberta Junior Hockey League final with a victory this Friday night (March 25) at the Centennial Arena at 7 p.m.

The Okotoks Oilers can advance to the Alberta Junior Hockey League final with a victory this Friday night (March 25) at the Centennial Arena at 7 p.m.

The Oilers took a three games to one lead in the South Division best of seven final by beating the Camrose Kodiaks 2-1 March 23 in Camrose.

The Oilers’ powerplay finally came to life as both goals came with Okotoks having the man advantage.

Michael Brown scored for Okotoks to tie the game at 1-1 and Nolan Huysmans got the game-winner early in the third period.

Okotoks goalie Michael Tadjdeh was named the game star by stopping 32 of 33 shots.
