A Suite Performance

Dewdney Players Theatre Group is bringing Neil Simon’s Plaza Suite to Okotoks again this weekend. Dewdney added its own unique twist to this popular play, so be sure to stay seated during intermission so you don’t miss a thing. Tickets cost $20 for adults and $15 for seniors and can be purchased at dewdneyplayers.com or by calling 403-938-3204. Tickets cost $5 more at the door

A Celebration of Music

Head to High River for the Highwood Lions Music Alumni Concert, titled In Thanksgiving for 40 Years of Music. This free concert will feature various performers from across the Foothills. Okotoks area performers include harpist Rebecca Woodruff. classical guitarist Kade Motycka, The Priddis Strings, flutist Kendra van Galen, sopranos Evangeline Mably and Abby Curzon.

Play Time

Are you looking to let off some steam before Thanksgiving? Elizabeth Street Improv is hosting its weekly drop-in session, offering a night of instruction and improv comedy as a place to learn more about improv and the performing arts while making new friends. The cost is $7 and free for first timers. For more details call 587-707-9172.

Art in the Works

View the work of Foothills artists with talents ranging in numerous genres at the annual Art Works! Art Show and Sale. This three-day event features painters, sculptures, woodwork, fibre art and much more. Admission is free.

Where: DeWinton Community Hall

When: Oct. 11 from 2 p.m. to 8 p.m. and Oct. 12-13 from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m.

 

Bow Mark Hopes to Extend Streak

The Bow Mark AAA Midget Oilers are at home to take on the Sherwood Park Kings Saturday.

The Oilers are coming off a thrilling 2-1 victory over the Calgary Royals to improve to 2-1 on the young season.

Top-ranked Bisons Host Stettler

The first-place Okotoks Bisons will square off against the Stettler Lightning Sunday.

The Bisons went into the weekend with a perfect 6-0 record and lead the Southern Division of the Heritage Junior B Hockey League.

The Lightning are 2-3 on the season.
