Town looking for input on recreation, parks and leisure

Okotoks is looking to make updates to the 2017 Recreation, Parks and Leisure Master Plan and has launched a survey to hear from the community.

Residents have the opportunity to help plan the future of recreation, parks and leisure in Okotoks by taking an online public engagement survey.

The input gathered will be used to update the 2017 Recreation, Parks and Leisure Master Plan and help prioritize programs and facilities in the community.

“We are updating the Recreation, Parks and Leisure Master Plan to provide maximum community benefit and optimized use of public resources,” said recreation client services co-ordinator Jennifer Berry. “Community input is important and will help the Town align needs, trends and future priorities.”

Postcards with an access code to complete the survey will arrive in mailboxes the week of Oct. 3. The access code is unique to each household and can only be used once. If you prefer to complete a paper copy of the survey, call 403-995-6331 or email [email protected]. The survey will remain open until Oct. 23.

As a thank you for providing feedback, the Town will be giving away a $250 Visa gift card. To be included in the draw, respondents must provide name and phone number when prompted following completion of the online survey.

The Town has retained RC Strategies to assist in updating the Recreation, Parks and Leisure Master Plan. For additional information about the process, contact Robert Parks at [email protected].
