It’s a picnic Christopher Robin would love.
The Town of Okotoks is hosting its annual Teddy Bear Picnic and Family Resource Fair July 11 from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. at the Okotoks Recreation Centre's Murray Arena.
The picnic is a free, fun-filled community event for children ages 2-8, their parents, and of course, their favourite stuffed animal.
Registration is at the door. There will be games, crafts, activities, and experienced medical staff will be on hand at the bear-care station.
Lunch is not provided, however free snacks are available and patrons are welcome to bring a picnic lunch or snack.
Food will also be available for purchase onsite.
All children must be accompanied by a responsible adult.
Donations are being accepted at the door for the Okotoks Family Resource Centre's Emergency Assistance program to help residents in financial need.
These donations go toward helping residents with one-time assistance while other supports are being put in place, and help with the purchase of things like groceries and gas.
Okotoks Conservation Educators will also be at the event, with information about the Town’s Sustainability and Conservation programs and initiatives.
