Okotoks residents are being encouraged to complete their federal census this week.
Census forms with access codes and links to the Statistics Canada survey will be in mailboxes this week, and the deadline to complete the online questionnaire is May 11.
The Town of Okotoks used a statement this week stressing the value of census data.
"Census information is important for our community and is vital for planning family services, housing, emergency services, roads, public transportation and skills training for employment," the Town stated.
Demographic information helps to plan for future development of facilities like daycares and schools, as well as to ensure protective services, transit and affordable housing needs are met.
Anyone unable to complete the census online may return a paper questionnaire by mail.
