UPDATE: Suspect arrested for stabbing at Okotoks campground

Ryan Cameron Bain, 38, of Calgary has been charged with two counts of attempted murder, among other offences. 

The suspect in two early morning stabbings last Sunday has been arrested, Okotoks RCMP stated in a Wednesday press release.

Ryan Cameron Bain, 38, of Calgary, has been charged with two counts of attempted murder, theft of a motor vehicle, threat to cause death or bodily harm, and possession of a weapon for dangerous purposes.

The incident took place at Okotoks' Riverbend Campground. 

According to a prior media release by RCMP, authorities were dispatched at approximately 6:15 a.m. on March 20 following reports of a double stabbing. 

When police arrived, a man and a woman were discovered with multiple wounds. RCMP said that both individuals were transported to hospital and are currently in stable condition. 

The suspect fled the scene and police issued a warrant for Ryan Cameron Bain, 38, of Calgary for two counts of attempted murder, among other offences.

A hearing was held on March 23, 2022, and Bain was remanded into custody to appear via CCTV in Okotoks Provincial Court on April 1, 2022.
