RCMP bust suspected drug dealers near Aldersyde

Three charged with drug trafficking following suspicious vehicle complaint near Aldersyde industrial area

Foothills County RCMP arrested three individuals and seized 1114 grams of methamphetamine, 110 grams of cocaine, and 93 grams of fentanyl after stopping a suspicious vehicle near Aldersyde on Sept. 8.
Mounties have taken more narcotics off the streets in Foothills County.

Following up on a complaint of a suspicious vehicle in an Aldersyde industrial area at around 8 p.m. Sept. 8, a press release stated Foothills County RCMP found the vehicle and conducted a traffic stop.

Speaking with the three occupants of the vehicle, it was discovered the male driver was under 24-hour house arrest, and he was subsequently arrested for a breach of court order. 

One of the female passengers also had outstanding warrants on charges from Calgary and the surrounding area.

The following was seized during the course of the investigation:

  • 1114 grams of methamphetamine
  • 110 grams of cocaine
  • 93 grams of fentanyl

In addition, a stolen vehicle from Calgary was recovered.

Jay Bridgman (50) of Calgary has been charged with:

  • Possession for the purpose of trafficking methamphetamine
  • Possession for the purpose of trafficking cocaine
  • Possession for the purpose of trafficking fentanyl
  • Possession of stolen property over $5,000
  • Breach of court order x 3

Sarah Jane Turner-Stewart (22) of Calgary has been charged with:

  • Possession for the purpose of trafficking methamphetamine
  • Possession for the purpose of trafficking cocaine
  • Possession for the purpose of trafficking fentanyl
  • Possession of stolen property over $5,000
  • Breach of court order

Samara Astalnok (22) of Calgary has been charged with:

  • Possession for the purpose of trafficking methamphetamine
  • Possession for the purpose of trafficking cocaine
  • Possession for the purpose of trafficking fentanyl
  • Possession of stolen property over $5,000

Bridgeman and Turner-Stewart did not speak to bail and were remanded into custody.

Turner-Stewart appeared in Calgary Provincial Court on Sept. 8 and Bridgeman is scheduled to appear in Okotoks Provincial Court on Sept. 10.

Astalnok was released and is scheduled to appear in Okotoks Provincial Court on Sept. 10,

The RCMP is not providing any further information at this time because the matters are before the courts.
