Musician and minister Paul Rumbolt will be putting on a benefit concert at the Turner Valley Legion on Saturday, Feb. 3.
Rumbolt spent 23 years living in the Foothills, primarily in Turner Valley.
"I was the United Church minister in Turner Valley for a number of years," said Rumbolt. "I was also the chaplain of the of the Legion branch there in Turner Valley.
"So there's been a really wonderful deep connection of relationships with the local townspeople, not just the folks from my church, but everyone in town."
Originally from Newfoundland, Rumbolt has titled the concert "East Meets West."
"I've only been back twice since I moved nine years ago actually," said Rumbolt. "I'm just absolutely excited to be going back and doing this concert at the Legion."
Rumbolt will be joined on stage by Diamond Valley musician Jim McLennan.
"He's a local guitar player extraordinaire," said Rumbolt. "People in the region absolutely love going to his shows, and he's a phenomenal guitar player and a good friend of mine."
Rumbolt sees the concert as a way for him and his fans to give back to the community.
"People have been following my music career and been absolutely wonderful supporters of what I've always been doing musically," said Rumbolt. "But they're also coming out and going to be supporting the Legion in in this fundraiser.
"It's a real beautiful, small town thing."
