Okotoks RCMP, teamwork helps solve a series of break-ins

RCMP arrested two people in connection with a series of break and enter investigations at a storage compound in the industrial area of Okotoks.

Okotoks RCMP members apprehended the two individuals while the suspects were believed to be breaking into the compound during the early hours of Nov. 27.

RCMP, members from the General Investigation Crime Reduction Unit, and Police Dog Services were used to establish surveillance and apprehend the Calgary suspects based on an intelligence-led investigation. 

A series of break and enters are believed resolved as the crimes are related.

Jeffrey Bain, 29, and Claudia Antler, 36, both from Calgary, were taken into custody without incident.

Bain is charged with eight counts of break and enter to a business; possession of break-in tools; disguise to commit break and enter; two counts of failing to comply with conditions of release and driving while suspended.

Antler was charged with break and enter to a business and possession of a banned substance.

Bain was remanded in custody to appear in court Dec. 1 for his first appearance. Antler was released to make her first appearance Jan. 8.

Okotoks RCMP thanks the members of the public who assisted with this successful apprehension and remind the public to provide information to investigators when known to assist with ongoing efforts to locate suspects. The public was not at risk during this investigation and RCMP are not looking for any additional people.
