The Premium Fire Protection in Okotoks has been found guilty in 15 counts of violating the safety code and acquitted on nine counts.

Okotoks company Premium Fire Protection has been found guilty on 15 counts of violating the safety code and acquitted on nine counts.

Premium Fire Protection has its main office in Okotoks and has branches in other provinces.

Judge Allan Fradsham ruled earlier this morning (June 11) in Calgary provincial court that uncertified workers had performed work at Calgary businesses.

Fradsham said business reports introduced during the trial against Premium proved the Crown’s case in 15 instances.

A Jordan Application has been made in relation to six Premium employees, concerning the length of time to get the charges to trial, is being heard later today.

The trial against Premium Fire’s owner, Kurt Bertrand, will get underway June 21 in Calgary provincial court. The Jordan application does not apply to Bertrand.
