Mountie Minute: Two suspensions issued at weekend Checkstops

Police in Okotoks checked over 200 vehicles during a trio of Checkstops last Saturday night in conjunction with National Impaired Driving Enforcement Day.

Okotoks RCMP members conducted three Checkstops last Saturday.

From Nov. 28 to Dec. 4, Okotoks RCMP responded to a total of 77 calls for service, including five crimes against persons, eight property/theft crimes, 13 motor vehicle collisions, one Mental Health Act call, one missing person, three domestic violence calls and five animal-related calls. 

There were also 22 calls of common police activities (lost/found items, 911 hang ups, alarms, driving complaints, abandoned vehicles, etc.). 

On Dec. 3, Okotoks RCMP conducted three Checkstops at Riverside Road, Milligan Drive and Northridge Road in conjunction with National Impaired Driving Enforcement Day. Over 200 vehicles were checked, resulting in one graduated licence suspension and one 72-hour roadside suspension being issued.
