Mountie Minute: Three drivers have licences suspended at Check Stop

Okotoks RCMP joins forces with High River and Strathmore to check 77 drivers in Saturday night Check Stop.

Okotoks RCMP responded to a total of 112 calls for service from Sept. 26 to Oct. 2, including five crimes against persons, 14 property/theft crimes, 10 motor vehicle collisions, one suspicious person, one Mental Health Act call, two missing persons, three domestic violence calls and two animal-related calls. 

There were 40 calls of common police activities (lost/found items, 911 hang ups, alarms, driving complaints, abandoned vehicles, etc.). 

On the evening of Saturday, Oct. 1, Okotoks RCMP conducted a Check Stop with High River and Strathmore RCMP Traffic Services near the Okotoks Library. Approximately 77 vehicles were checked which resulted in three drivers having their licences suspended due to alcohol. 

Okotoks RCMP is asking the public to report any impaired drivers they might come across, and not to drive while intoxicated. Together we can keep the roads safe for everyone.
