A Morley man charged in a stabbing in Eden Valley has been released on bail and ordered to stay away from the reserve west of Longview.

Malik Holloway was released on $3,000 no deposit bail June 21. No cash-deposit means the person does not have to pay any cash, but if they are re-arrested they will have to pay the amount set by the court.

Holloway was ordered to stay away from Eden Valley and live in Morley under 24-hour house arrest, except for work, school or medical emergencies. He can also shop for necessities up to two hours per week if approved by his probation officer. He can have no contact with the victims and is banned from carrying weapons.

Holloway was charged with aggravated assault along with a 15-year-old, who cannot be named, after an alleged stabbing at Eden Valley home. The youth was released after he was arrested.

Holloway will be back in court July 25 to enter a plea.

The charges relate to a dispute between neighbours on the Eden Valley Reserve that turned violent May 23.

A group went to a nearby home and a fight broke out. Two people were stabbed. A 19-year-old received significant wounds and was taken to Foothills Hospital.

A 13-year-old was also stabbed and was treated at Alberta Children’s Hospital.

Both were in serious, but stable condition.

Following the stabbing, it’s alleged the stabbing victims’ family returned to the house and beat a 47-year-old man. Three people were charged with break-and-enter and assault with a weapon in that incident.
