Hike of the week

Hoffman Humps boasts unusual rock formations and breathtaking views.
Hoffman Humps
The six-kilometre Hoffman Humps hike brings hikers to spectacular rock formations west of Turner Valley.

Trail: Hoffman Humps

Difficulty: Low intermediate

Length: 6 km (out and back)

Ascent: 300 meters

Trailhead: Head west of Turner Valley to the Indian Oils parking lot. Cross the bridge over Tiger Jaw Falls and take the old logging road. An unmarked trail swings up to the right just before you cross an un-named creek bed.

Description: Hoffman Humps boasts some very cool rock formations made of sandstone outcroppings that look like faces. This trail offers some terrific views. Be sure to take the trail around to the back of the rocks and stand on top.

Reminder: Take adequate water, food and clothing in the event of sudden weather changes. Ensure someone knows where you’re going and when you’ll be back in the event you get lost or injured. Hiking alone is not recommended.
