Trail: Brown Lowery Provincial Park

Difficulty: Beginner

Length: 6 km (out and back)

Ascent: 250 meters

Trailhead: Head north of Millarville on Highway 22 and turn west on Plummers Road. The parking area is on the south side of road.

Description: Hike up to beautiful Eagle’s View lookout with its pastoral western views, then return back to the parking lot via the old mill loop where you can see remnants of buildings from logging operations in the early 1900s. This hike boasts wooden bridges, tons of interesting mushrooms, wild raspberries and a plethora of wildflowers (especially orange wood lilies). It’s heavily wooded so don’t forget your insect repellent. For more details go to https://albertaparks.ca/media/5750243/brown-lowery-pp-park-notes.pdf

Reminder: Take adequate water, food and clothing in the event of sudden weather changes. Ensure someone knows where you’re going and when you’ll be back in the event you get lost or injured. Hiking alone is not recommended.
