Highway crash near Okotoks slows traffic

Responders were called to a collision on Highway 2 Friday afternoon.

The call came in around 1 p.m. Jan. 21 of a two-vehicle collision at the intersection of Highway 2 and 338 Avenue.

One vehicle, believed to be traversing the intersection eastbound, was struck by the other travelling south, said Okotoks fire Capt. Greg Koski.

No vehicle occupants, including the two drivers and two child passengers, were seriously injured, he added. One dog was also unharmed.

Both Foothills and Okotoks Fire Departments responded to the scene, as well as EMS and RCMP.

As of 1:30 p.m. traffic on southbound Highway 2 was restricted to one lane and the 338 Avenue crossing is blocked in the middle.

Cleanup is expected to continue restricting traffic until approximately 2:15 p.m.
