Emergency crews clear a collision on Highway 2 at 338 Ave. On Feb. 5

Emergency crews responded to a two-vehicle collision on Highway 2 south of the Okotoks overpass at 338 Avenue Friday afternoon.

According to Okotoks RCMP, the collision, which occurred in the southbound lanes of Highway 2 around 1:45 p.m. Feb. 5, involved a pickup truck traveling south that collided with an SUV attempting to cross the highway from 338 Ave.

The pickup truck driver swerved to avoid the SUV, but couldn't avoid it.

Neither of the lone occupants in the vehicles were seriously injured.

Reduced visibility from snow is believed to be a factor.

As of 2:20 p.m. responders and tow truck drivers were still working to clear the scene.

Driving with caution is advised as visibility is still impeded due to blowing snow in the area.
