Trees are good for your health — going beyond supplying much needed oxygen.
The Avenue of Trees auction is Dec. 14 starting at 1 p.m. at the Okotoks Recreation Centre.
Proceeds will go towards the Sheep River Health Trust.
The Christmas trees have been decorated with love and care.
The several trees on display at the rec centre have been judged in 11 categories and 10 trees were selected to be auctioned off live during today's Mistletoe Market.
There are a couple of capital projects on the horizon that will benefit from Avenue of Trees this year, said Andrea Mitchell, health trust executive director.
“We’re finishing the ultrasound machine here at the Okotoks Health and Wellness Centre,” said Mitchell. “It’s a portable ultrasound machine, so part of the funds will probably go there.”
The auction is at 1 p.m at the recreation centre. There is a silent auction for those spectacular trees that did not qualify for the auction block.
The Mistletoe Market runs from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m.
