Charges laid after Foothills RCMP find pipe bomb in vehicle theft investigation

A 31-year-old woman was arrested after Foothills RCMP responded to reports of a stolen vehicle.

Foothills County RCMP arrested a woman in connection to a vehicle theft who was found to be in possession of a pipe bomb.

On Jan. 24, county authorities along with Okotoks RCMP responded to a complaint of a possible stolen vehicle travelling southbound on Highway 2.

The vehicle was located by RCMP members in Aldersyde with a lone female occupant.

The vehicle was confirmed to be stolen and the female was arrested.

A search of the vehicle located stolen property and weapons.

Jordan Ogden, 31, has been charged with theft over $5,000, theft under $5,000, possession of weapon for dangerous purpose, possession of explosive (pipe bomb) and numerous breach charges stemming from four separate release orders.

Following a judicial hearing, Ogden was remanded into custody. Ogden is scheduled to appear in Turner Valley Provincial Court on Feb. 8.

The investigation is ongoing.
