Hamlet of Blackie residents have water, but remain on a boil advisory until further notice.
Water has been restored for the approximately 330 residents after a water-line break was discovered around noon on June 25.
“There was a line break in the plant that connects the treatment plant to the clear well where the water is stored until it is treated,” said Jeff Edgington, Foothills County supervisor of infrastructure.
Signs were erected and notices posted on social media about the break shortly after it was discovered, he said.
The break was repaired at around 10 p.m., however, a boil-water advisory is in place until the system is flushed.
“We are waiting for the reservoir to fill up so we can flush the system and that should take place later today,” Edgington said on June 26.
Residents were able to pick up potable water at the Blackie Arena. That service will continue until 10 p.m. July 26 and later if needed.
The County distributed water to individuals who were not mobile last night. As of 10 a.m. June 26, water is available at low pressure. Residents are asked to conserve water for household purposes and avoid watering lawns.
