OKOTOKS - Western Wheel reporter Tammy Rollie joined KT Event's Katie Fournell in sampling the unique variations of delectable hot chocolate offered by local businesses during the Okotoks Hot Chocolate Festival, which runs Feb. 12 to 22.
Here is what we had to say about Little Junior’s Lavender Haute Chocci:
Description: This beverage is the perfect combination of cocoa and hand-made lavender syrup with your choice of coconut milk, organic vital greens whole milk or gluten free oat milk topped with fresh lavender. Bringing just the right amount of sweetness is Little Junior’s homemade mouth-watering gluten and dairy free chocolate biscotti topped with sponge toffee, toasted meringue, cocoa powder and icing sugar.
Katie: I like how frothy the milk is and the sweetness of it. The biscotti is really what sells this hot chocolate. It’s a good portion size for what you pay for. The value is amazing.
Tammy: The drink itself is very subtle, but when you bite into the chocolate biscotti and all of its deliciousness it adds the perfect amount of sweetness that has you wanting to come back for more.
Cost: $5.50 for a 12 oz. cup and $6.25 for a 16 oz. cup.
