Violinist Kerry DuWors and pianist Katherine Dowling will perform The Singing Spirit on Sunday, Feb. 12 at High River United Church.

High River Gift of Music’s first concert of 2023 will see violinist Kerry DuWors and pianist Katherine Dowling pluck our heartstrings with timeless chronicles of human experience.

The Singing Spirit on Sunday, Feb. 12 will shine a spotlight on a great story of love and affection — that of Robert and Clara Schumann and their protégé Johannes Brahms.

The intimate violin and piano concert will illuminate this enthralling story in musical selections infused with emotion. This romantic program tells of human experience —friendship and intimacy, adversity and despair, hope and love — with music that transcends place, era, culture and circumstance.

DuWors and Dowling breathe fresh life into the music and the intriguing history of these three incredible artists through exquisite violin and piano performances.

Just in time for Valentine’s Day, the performance of these gorgeous works will allow concert goers to discover the eloquence of these Romantic masters through selections created in the springtime of the Romantic era.

The Singing Spirit is set for 3 p.m. at High River United Church. Tickets, which are $30 for adult/senior and $10 for youth, are available at highrivergiftofmusic.com, at the church from Monday to Thursday, 9:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m., and at the door.
