Singers from across Southern Alberta make up the Big Rock Singers.

A local choir will be taking the stage to sing the hits this Saturday.

"We've done three international tours with the choir and this show is a blast from the past for many of us in the choir, reliving our favourite songs from the '70s and '80s," said Big Rock Singers artistic director Carey Gruber.

The group will be performing hits from ABBA, Boston, Donna Summer, Eagles, Elton John, Fleetwood Mac, Journey, Queen, Styx and more.

"Usually when you go to a concert, you're not a participant, you're simply an observer or a listener," said Gruber.  "And for this show, we really want the audience to participate, because how can you not sing along to Stairway to Heaven or Bohemian Rhapsody?"

The shows are happening at the Foothills Centennial Centre on Saturday, May 4.

The matinee at 1 p.m. is sold out, but tickets for the evening show at 6 p.m. are still available.

The cut-off for ticket sales is Thursday, May 2. Get tickets here

The choir, which will be celebrating its 35th anniversary in September, is also seeking new members.

"There are no auditions to join," said Gruber. "You don't have to have any singing experience, so head over to our website to find out more information."

Registration to join for the choir's Christmas season opens on Sunday, May 5.
