Book Chatter will focus on historical fiction with its first three titles.

The Okotoks Public Library’s new book club, Book Chatter, is set to launch next month.

The club will meet from 1 to 2:30 p.m. on the third Thursday of every month, starting Nov. 16 when members will discuss The Lost Apothecary by Sarah Penner.

The free club is an opportunity to get together, dive deep into a book, and discuss the ins and outs of a story. There will be the opportunity to share thoughts, consider ideas and answer questions related to the book.

Organizers will mix up the genre every so often as an opportunity to try different things. Members are free to bring their own notes and questions as well as book and genre suggestions.

The club will tackle historical fiction out of the gate. Below are the first three books and the corresponding meeting dates:

The Lost Apothecary by Sarah Penner – Nov. 16

A Lullaby for Witches by Hester Fox – Dec. 21

The Weight of Ink by Rachel Kadish – Jan. 18

Books should be read before the meeting date as members will be discussing the book that day.
