Tiny homes an opportunity worth embracing

Dear Editor, Kudos to the Town of Okotoks for recognizing the opportunity that the Tiny Home Eco Village presented to them to identify town-owned land that is underutilized.

Dear Editor, Kudos to the Town of Okotoks for recognizing the opportunity that the Tiny Home Eco Village presented to them to identify town-owned land that is underutilized. From what I understand the intent of the redevelopment of Kinsmen Park would be to incorporate some of the existing uses (playground and community gardens) so the greater community would not lose these amenities. Instead the redevelopment has the potential to serve a greater number of people who work and live in Okotoks and make the downtown core a more vibrant community. In addition, the Tiny Home Eco Village would provide much needed diversity in affordable housing options available in Okotoks. This is a fantastic opportunity that we should be embracing. I hope that the Town recognizes the importance of continually assessing existing land use to identify underutilized land that could be rezoned to better meet the needs of the community.
