Dear Editor
I recently received a flyer, followed by a large envelope with documents (which I immediately recycled without opening) concerning the Prairie Sky Resource Centre.
Seeing as how it’s not going “in my back yard”, I can’t really get fired up about it one way or the other. What I really take exception to is the name – “Prairie Sky Resource Centre”. Does this mean that they are going to have a library on site? That’s what I think of when I picture a “resource centre”. I certainly don’t conjure up visions of piles of stinking trash. But that’s probably the idea, isn’t it? And prairie skies are wide open , clean and blue.
Let’s call it what it is, the Foothills Dump Site or Foothills Collection Site. But then, you’d rather sell real estate near the “Prairie Sky Resource Centre “, rather than the Foothills landfill, wouldn’t you.
If the name is dishonest, can you trust any other aspects of it?
