I’m so glad I voted for Coun. Florence Christophers in this past election.
She has already shown me that she has my best interests at heart with her comments on the Town’s Downtown Urban Design Master Plan (front page article, November 8).
I can’t believe we are going down this road again. That’s what happens when you vote for the same old council/mayor. According to senior planner, Colin Gainer, “we’re looking at the direction of long-term urban design guidelines...” After reading the entire article I found there was no mention of timelines or budget. No timelines, no financial breakdown means it’s not a viable plan.
Coun. Christophers, I completely agree with your point of view. I would rather see Town money (taxpayers’ money) spent elsewhere, such as affordable housing and water solutions. These two issues were clearly identified at the last election. How can council’s memory be so short? Are we really in for another four years of this? Or are we going to see Okotoks actually move forward and solve these issues?
Coun. Christophers, please stay on top of this. Thank you for making a difference.
