Kindness of strangers appreciated

Dear Editor,

My 96-year-old father, David, in a case of “distracted walking,” tripped and fell on the curb outside of Boston Pizza in Okotoks.

He banged his head and other parts of his body to such an extent that an ambulance was called and he was taken to Emergency at South Health Campus in Calgary for examination and treatment.

I would like to thank the two ladies and their children who took the time to stop and help. One woman provided a blanket and the other, a nurse, sat on the ground and talked with Dad.

Both stayed with us until the ambulance arrived. As well, employees at Boston Pizza helped by providing ice and napkins.

Dad has since recovered and is up and about, and is back to his routine of walking 20 minutes a day on the treadmill.

Our family thanks all those who helped - their kindness is truly appreciated. Well done Okotoks.
