Dear Editor,

On behalf of the Acoustic Christmas Concert for the Okotoks Food Bank held Dec. 15 and 16 at the new Okotoks United Church, we would like to thank all the sponsors, performers, volunteers and those who attended. It was an outstanding success, with sold out attendance both nights and a high quality of musicianship and performance. With your support, we were able to raise approximately $10,600, plus a truckload of food bank items. That is double last year’s contribution, which in turn was nearly double the previous year, so it is clear we have been building a very successful event. It will go a long way towards fulfilling the needs of the food bank, a very worthwhile organization. However, keep in mind Christmas is not the only time of year they need our support, so please be generous whenever you can.

We also want to thank the United Church and compliment them on their wonderful new place of worship. It is fantastic they are able to make it available to the community for performances like the Christmas Concert — the sound, the seating and the atmosphere were superb.

There are far too many people to list here, so may we just say thank you to all who participated and wish you a prosperous and peaceful 2012. However, we would like to offer a special thank you to Gerry and Elaine Wood and Okotoks Ford, who made a very substantial donation. Bless you.

Renay Eng-Fisher, Dr. Ed Sands and John Fraser
